September 24, 2009

Hello, my precious. i have so many of your pictures on my desk at work and i look at them all day long and I am so surprised how much you consume my thoughts. Everyone who is a grandparent told me how wonderful it was, and i could hardly believe it, because I just didn't think it could be better than having my own children. But it is great!!! I love being a granmie and I love you

happy birthday

wow Bryce, you are one year old. where did this first year go? time really flys by when you start to watch a child grow and change. you are just walking everywhere now and can say a couple words. your party was wonderful. you were a little overwhelmed by the whole thing tho.
i just love when i hold you and you cuddle into my neck, there is absolutely nothing better on this whole earth.
aunt staci takes your pictures and she sure does a good job, there are so many and i just don't know which one i like the best. i just look and look at them and marvel at what a joy it is to have a granddaughter and how blessed our family is to have you in our family.

oh dear bryce, it is so funny to see what a mind of your own you already have. last night i stopped by your house for a minute and your mommy was trying to put you in your high chair and you didn't want to go so as she is holding you in the air, you stick both your legs straight out at a 90% angle, as if to say, "so there, try to put me in now" . i was cracking up and i even laughed about it as i lay in bed last night. what a charmer you are. i love you

YOU ARE WALKING

Wow, can't believe that you are walking now. at 10 months, and how cute you are. the little penguin waddle. i can't believe just one year ago you were still curled up in your mommies belly. how quick we see life pass when we watch a little one grow. i will always remember the day you were born. your mommy was so brave. she actually let all of us come in and say hi to her while she was in labor. and she never even made a noise. i couldn't believe it. at 10:30 in the morning the doctor told her she would probably deliver you about supper time and she was bound and determined that she wasn't going to wait that long. then at 11:30 (or so) they let her push and we were all in the waiting room and all of our cell phones went off and we all scrambled to grab our phones and there was your very first picture of you and your mommy. it was the most awesome experience for me ( and i am sure everyone else in the room). and then we had to wait to be able to go see you. at first they weren't going to let your aunt staci in the room and she had tears in her eyes, she just couldn't believe they wouldn't let her in. well, they finally did let her in and she was as thrilled as all of us and she has been taking your picture ever since.
you sure did make it into a family that will always shower you with lots of love.
good night beautiful girl

06/07/08

hi my little darling,
i was just at your house and you smile as soon as you see me and follow me to the door. how cool is that?? of course when i held you you wanted to go back to your mommy, but we won't talk about that anymore.
when you were five weeks old we were all invited to a wedding in atlanta, ga and you went. hard to believe that you made the trip. everything went very well except the car ride and you screamed in your car seat. we had a hard time with that especially your mommy.
And you have been to uncle dan and aunt marissa's house in columbia md.. now uncle danny has moved to germany, so i know there is another trip in your future. can you believe you were younger that 3 and got to go to germany. you will certainly be a little world traveler. (not sure when you are going, that is why i put under 3)
we sure have a great time with you and love every minute we spend with you. xxoo

my first grandchild

To my beautiful beautiful Bryce.
You are my first grandchild and already you have shown me so much about life. I hope I will always be young enough to learn from you. Everyone said being a grandparent was better than being a parent and I really could not believe that because I loved my sons more than life itself. But let me tell you, my precious, it is wonderful being your grammie. I have enjoyed you so much. I long to see you. I don't want to be a pain to your parents but I really want to see you all the time. As a grandparent I can enjoy you totally and I don't have to do any of the work that comes with raising a child. And believe me it is alot of work. But your mommy is the best and she is the most patient mommy I have ever seen. Even when she doesn't get any sleep for nights and goes to work, she doesn't lose her patience.
I love your smiles, your nose scrunches, your marshmallow legs, everything about you is wonderful and I love you.
I will write more as time goes by with things like how you were a little Christmas miracle. your mommy and daddy were trying so long to have a baby and they were getting ready to have invitro and there was one month left before that was scheduled and the doctor even told them that "miracles" do happen. How is that for no hope. Anyhow, they both were sick over Thanksgiving with colds and I think just run down from some many disappointments and lo and behold you were created. They were going to wait until Christmas to tell the parents but they couldn't even wait one hour and we all knew. What a thrill, you made them the most happy people on earth at that point and all of us parents were right up there with them on the clouds. God was waiting till the right Bryce egg came so he could place you with them.
